But if you're eager... here is another reflection on Mark 12:41-44
When
I read this passage I felt like I'd been so close & yet so far away from
seeing this woman how God does.
On
the surface of the account, she appears weak or a lesser person to those around
her because of her circumstances.
But
Jesus looked around the weakness and exposed the strength that was waiting to
be recognised or fulfilled and sheds light on ability to live in strength &
faith despite her difficulties.
During
this last week I've had a new kind of insight into the lives of my 3 year old
cherubs at the Preschool. As a teacher I'm required to teach to a child's
strengths.
In
one instance a possible 'weakness' in a child struggling to cope with packing
up gave me an opportunity to 'stand back' and look around the difficulty they
were having.
It
turned out the struggle was with the nature of the music I played to signal
pack up time. It prompted an emotional response in the child that caused them
to feel sad & cry.
The
supposed struggle with pack up I found was more likely to be a potential for
emotional strength or intelligence that was waiting to be nurtured.
Jesus
sees so much more potential in us than we ever will.
I
can only say, 'Thank you'
